Facility Leader: Russell Washburn, Warden
Russell Washburn was named warden at La Palma Correctional Center in June 2024. He had most recently served in the position as warden at Red Rock Correctional Center. In addition, Washburn has been the warden position at Stewart Detention Center, as well as at the Trousdale Turner Correctional Center. Washburn joined CoreCivic in 1996 as a correctional officer at Hernando County Jail, where he later served as assistant shift supervisor, unit manager and training manager. He has since served CoreCivic in a variety of roles, including chief of security, and as assistant warden.
